Holiday Experts takes off with business angel support

Holiday Experts, an Internet travel company based in the Northwest, is celebrating over 100% increase in turnover since a massive £300,000 investment, early in 2007 from an individual Northwest Business Angels investor. The investment, which was the largest amount ever received from a single Northwest Business Angel, has helped Holiday Experts to boost its sales and build on it already rapid growth.

Northwest Business Angels is one of the UK’s longest-established business angel networks help secure investment for Holiday Experts in just two days.  “We were only approached by Holiday Experts two days before our monthly Investor Club meeting,” explains Northwest Business Angels advisor Jo Allday. “We then worked closely with the company to find an investor very quickly. One of our advisers visited the company the following day to talk the owners through the whole Northwest Business Angels process, helping them to put together a presentation, which was then rehearsed and presented the next day. 

Formed in mid-2005, Holiday Experts has developed a unique, cost-effective approach to travel agency, with staff working from home and sales generated via the Internet, Teletext and personal recommendation. To streamline the booking process, the company offers an 8am-10pm service, seven days per week, and uses agents with extensive knowledge of the destinations and regions on offer.  It’s agents are based all over the UK and even abroad with a new agent based in Belgium starting this week.
